We wait for Japanese investors to Green Industry Zone
Japan Turkey Ambassador, Akio Miyajima, visited Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry. TTSO Chairman M. Suat Hacısalihoğlu gave information to Ambassador Miyajima about the projects conducted. . He emphasized that they are waiting for Japanese investors to TR61 Green Industry Zone which is planned to be completed in 2 years. Japanese Turkey Ambassador Akiyo Miyajima, who visited TTSO within the scope of reviews in Black Sea Region, was greeted by Chairman M. Suat Hacısalihoğlu, Vice-Chairmen Tolga Avcı and Mustafa Zihni Serdar, and Accountant Member of Board Özcan İlarslan.
Chairman M. Suat Hacısalihoğlu stated that Japan had important contributions to Eastern Black Sea Region and Trabzon by their cooperation in many fields, and emphasized that the local people appreciated Japan’s contributions to developing aquaculture, to mineral exploration activities and to launching DOKAP Project in the region.
Giving information about the projects of Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chairman Hacısalihoğlu added:
“Having been a trade center, Trabzon is the most important port of the historical Silk Road on Black Sea shores. It is one of the key spots for the trade between East and West. Trabzon maintains its trading position, and there are also steps taken to carry the city forward in terms of industry. We have 4 organized industrial zones. Companies there are provided with important government subsidies. At 400 industrial facilities in our city, there are 25 thousand employees. More than half of the hazelnut produced in turkey are exported from Trabzon to the world as there are modern hazelnut processing facilities. Turkey’s most important aquaculture fishing companies are active in Trabzon. 55% of Turkey’s raw vegetable-fruit and citrus export is made by companies in Trabzon. Trabzon is an educational city with its 70 thousand university students. It is the health center of the region. It is on the highest position in Turkey with its export of 1,5 billion dollars.”
“TOURISM CAN BE AN IMPORTANT FIELD OF COOPERATION”
Chairman Hacısalihoğlu stated that the tourism has developed in recent years in the region and added:
“Our biggest wish is to cooperate with Japan in tourism. We would like to utilize the opportunity of investment, especially in eco tourism and cultural-history tourism fields. Additionally, I believe we can cooperate in the fields of innovation and biotechnology. Our chamber is currently constructing a center in the these fields. We can cooperate in producing and developing raw material for medicine from 3500 types of plants.”
“WE EXPECT JAPANESE INVESTORS TO THE INDUSTRIAL ZONE”
Hacısalihoğlu emphasized that TR61 Green Industry Zone planned to be built in Arsin is one of the most important projects of Trabzon, and added "At the Investment Island to be built on a 3 million square meters of filled area, there will be 100 technology companies. We have a goal of 15 billion dollars export. We expect Japanese companies to invest in the Industrial Zone. Trabzon will not only be recognized with its natural and historical beauty but also become an innovation center, and a medium and high technology base. Engineers graduated from universities in the city will relief these zones from lack of personnel. Trabzon is indeed an important and reliable investment region.”
Visual representations of many projects in Trabzon such as eco tourism opportunities, Investment Island, Uzungöl Winter Tourism Center project, Biotechnology and Innovation Center have been made to Ambassador Miyajima.
“I AM IMPRESSED WITH TRABZON”
Stating that he’s been working in Turkey for almost 9 months, Ambassador Akio Miyajima said that it’s the first time he visited Trabzon and added "I’m impressed with what I have heard and seen. Trabzon has an important position, and there are great projects carried out. I will do my best for those to be recognized and heard by Japanese businessmen. In upcoming months, there will be a Turkish-Japanese businessmen summit. There might be made a presentation for these projects.”
HE VISITED SILK ROAD MUSEUM
Chairman M. Suat Hacısalihoğlu presented a plaque to Ambassador Miyajima for the memory of his visit. Miyajima also viewed historical artifacts in TTSO Special Silk Road Museum, received information from Chairman Hacısalihoğlu and signed the museum’s honorary book.
